Ankle Arthritis

Arthritis is inflammation of the joints. Inflammation can cause pain and stiffness and is common in the small joints of the ankle. Ankle arthritis can make it difficult to walk and perform activities you enjoy. Common symptoms of ankle arthritis include, pain with motion, tenderness of the joint, joint swelling, redness, increased pain and swelling in the morning and difficulty walking or running.

Initial treatment of arthritis of the foot and ankle is usually nonsurgical. We may suggest the following activities such as, minimizing activities that aggravate the condition, switching from high-impact activities to low-impact activities or losing weight to reduce stress on joints
